Our Name: My Oppo—Supporting Families Affected by PTSD (‘My Oppo’ meaning ‘My Friend’ in Military Slang)

Our Charity, Located in the West Midlands, United Kingdom, Dedicated to Public Welfare: We aim to alleviate the challenges faced by families of current and former Armed Forces members dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). We achieve this by collaborating with Armed Forces agencies, healthcare services, and mental health experts.

  • Raising public awareness of PTSD;
  • Providing support groups and related services to enable those families to best support their loved ones;
  • Providing grant funding for family oriented short breaks and activities.
  • …and of course hikes!

A range of programmes and workshops: helping to develop coping techniques for PTSD

Your mind can often become the toughest battleground—don’t face it alone. My Oppo: guiding military service members and their families through the complexities of PTSD. From peer-to-peer support groups to our monthly charity hikes, we stand by you: United Through Turmoil.

We are also very excited to announce the launch of our self-help programme. The programme will involve a range of activities to help families and people with PTSD develop self-help techniques to help cope with PTSD. Our programme will involve workshops with various specialists such as life coaches and counsellors. You will also have access to online fitness classes, guided meditation and yoga classes.
